  • 24 two-car units, which are operated by Transport for Wales, require a full vehicle and bogie C4 overhaul. The work is due to commence in August 2020 and is planned to be completed by December 2022.
  • 16 two-car units, which are operated by East Midlands Railway, require a C4 bogie overhaul. This is due to commence in June 2020 and is planned to be completed by November 2021.

The post says: “The vehicles will be overhauled in Wabtec’s E2 workshop which has a wealth of experience in undertaking this type of work. The bogies, components and wheels will also be overhauled at Doncaster.

“This project further builds on Wabtec Rail’s relationship with Angel Trains and the company’s extensive experience of the Class 158 fleet. Wabtec Rail undertook the previous C4 overhaul of the vehicles and have been maintaining them for over 10 years.”

Angel Trains said: “During this unprecedented time, we are pleased to continue supporting our key suppliers and investing in the rail industry.”
