West Midlands Metro offers wealth of career opportunities

The expansion of West Midlands Metro is generating a wealth of career opportunities, and enthusiastic individuals are being urged to apply now for a wide range of roles within the operator’s diverse team.

As well as recruiting drivers/customer service officers, Midland Metro Limited is looking for suitable candidates to fill engineering roles within its expanding infrastructure and tram maintenance departments.

Claire Scrimshire, Head of HR & OD, explained: “These are exciting times for the organisation as we look forward to the launch of services to Wolverhampton Station while work on the Dudley Brierley Hill and Birmingham Eastside extension continues.

“To help us deliver a first-class service to customers, we need to recruit highly motivated individuals with varying degrees of experience.

“In some instances, previous experience of working in the transport sector isn’t required as full training will be provided.

“We also have vacancies for office-based roles and are particularly keen to strengthen our Human Resources department by recruiting a Learning and Skills Manager and a HR Adviser.

All the current vacancies, and details on how to apply, can be found at RBD Rail Recruiter and on the Metro website here.

All the roles offer a competitive salary and an attractive package of benefits, including free Metro travel and membership of an employee discount scheme.

“There couldn’t be a better time to join the network, and we would urge anyone looking for a fresh start, or to advance their career within the light rail sector, to take a look at the opportunities on offer,” Claire added.
