A world-class photography exhibition will be displayed at Leeds station from today (24 January) featuring artwork from this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.
Visitors can explore a diverse range of stunning compositions from verdant country footpaths, to majestic riverside retreats. The winning photos include a stunning photo of Skelwith Bridge in Cumbria taken by York local Miles Middlebrook.
The free exhibition will be on display at Leeds station’s north concourse until Sunday 6 February 2022 as it tours Britain’s biggest and busiest stations.
Maxine Joicey, Leeds Station Customer Experience Manager, said: “This is a celebration of world-class talent and I’m sure that the spectacular photos will be enjoyed by anyone travelling through our station, as well as attracting Leeds’ art community. Art has been rooted in the city of Leeds for a long time and we feel really lucky to be hosting the exhibition.”
The Landscape Photographer of the Year competition is now in its 14th year and is open to professionals and amateurs, showcasing exquisite images of landscapes and cityscapes from around the UK. There are four categories, plus a youth competition for under-18s, with winners sharing a prize fund worth £20,000, and a top prize of £10,000.
