Dura Composites Launches Innovative d2 GRP Access Structures Configurator

Dura Composites, global leaders in the manufacturing and distribution of composite products, have launched a brand-new online time-saving tool: the d2 GRP Access Structures Configurator.

This allows customers in a wide range of industrial, rail and construction environments to easily configure and specify a step-over access structure that suits their individual requirements. By inputting the dimensions of the obstacle to be crossed, an instant state-of-the-art d2 GRP access structure is generated, along with a ready-to-purchase price and overall footprint size.

This newly-launched tool empowers users to make their own design and buying decisions.; allowing them to specify safe, high performing access structures to navigate obstacles such as pipework, plant equipment, bund walling, or changes in level in a matter of minutes. It also provides instant transparency of cost – which means better planning for a customer’s overall project lifecycle.

Hot on the heels of winning its second Queen’s Award for Enterprise earlier this year, Dura Composites continues to lead the field in composites innovation, providing more ways to design, choose, customise and buy GRP fabrications. Thanks to the use of new d2 grating for the stair treads and landings and the use of e23 grade GRP profile sections, Dura’s access structures offer vastly superior performance and specification versus competitor products in conjunction with relevant standards.

The d2 GRP Access Structures have been designed to accommodate the obstacle dimensions of a specific project. Each user simply selects their obstacle parameters using the inbuilt slider or text input boxes and are then presented with the three most cost-efficient design options to meet their specified criteria and space limitations.

All d2 GRP Access Structures are designed in conjunction with relevant standards for commercial and industrial use and provide a safe, low-maintenance, non-conductive and cost-effective alternative to metal or wooden structures.

Stair treads and landings are made from Dura’s latest range of highly-engineered GRP floor grating known as d2 DuraGrating, which takes structural flooring to a whole new level. With a gritted anti-slip surface – tested to 1 million footfalls – a leading Class B fire rating, and a better strength-to-weight ratio than any other composite product on the market, Dura’s newly created grating solution delivers superb results in a wide range of environments.

Stuart Burns, Managing Director of Dura Composites, commented: “The launch of our configurator tool shows how Dura Composites is leading the way in the field of composites in construction, by taking a complex set of requirements and simplifying them to present an instant customised solution.”

Burns adds: “We want to educate people about the versatility and performance of composites in real-world scenarios, and by making them easy to specify purchase through tools such as our new access structure configurator, we can achieve our ambition to make composites mainstream.”

Offering a complete range of d2 Fabrications, Dura’s latest innovations in GRP technology will deliver the safest, most cost-effective, and user-friendly GRP access systems on the market.
