How Rail Infrastructure Networking Events in 2024 can help your business

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) are now recognised as the organisers of the largest railway infrastructure networking events in the UK. These flagship events, held three times a year across London, Derby, and now Harrogate, create an essential marketplace for professionals in the rail sector.

In this guest writer article, Keven Parker, Head of Rail at Jobson James Rail – The Rail Insurance Broker – and Founder of RIN, emphasises the significance RIN plays in creating opportunities for rail infrastructure companies to meet new potential customers and for buyers to find new products and services.

In April, Network Rail will recharge its coffers in the new five-year Control Period 7 (CP7), ushering in £44 billion of fresh funding destined to reshape the landscape of the UK railway. As we rapidly approach this transformative period, the importance of establishing and nurturing meaningful relationships in the rail industry becomes increasingly apparent. When the money is flowing, the supply chain need to be well connected to benefit.

Part of the new funding will be the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) renewals programme, poised to develop, mobilise, and deliver a £9 billion initiative between 2024 and 2034 in the Southern region. The scale of this programme underscores the pivotal role collaboration will play in driving the future of rail infrastructure in the South. Opportunities for networking and collaboration will become integral to success. Our forthcoming RIN London event is positioned very well to provide a meeting place for all the rail infrastructure supply chain to ensure the major buyers are aware of the newest, most exciting and innovative products and services available to them to deliver on that Southern programme.

2024: The biggest year of RIN Events yet building upon the huge growth of the events in 2023

RIN London takes place on Thursday 7 March 2024 at the Business Design Centre once again, but this time, even bigger with more exhibitors, more footfall, more major buyers and more railway infrastructure companies represented. It will be the largest railway trade show in London in 2024 with an increased floorplan featuring 130 exhibitors to provide an even more immersive experience for the anticipated 1,000+ visitors from 700+ railway infrastructure companies.

One upcoming highlight of this year’s RIN London is the addition of Amey Rail to the Meet the Buyer panel. Amey Rail, a formidable player in the industry, brings a fresh perspective and new avenues for collaboration. Their presence underscores the recognition that RIN Events are garnering within the rail community, serving as the platform where key players converge to shape the future of rail infrastructure.

The growth in RIN Event’s floorplan, Meet the Buyer Panel, and Harrogate as RIN’s new home for its Northern event signifies more than just expansion. They represent the collective commitment to excellence, collaboration and support that Jobson James Rail, the specialist rail insurance broker and organisers of RIN Events, offer to the wider rail community.

The culture encouraged at RIN is that everyone comes with a ‘we are here to do business’ attitude, indicated by the fact that 85 per cent of attendees are happy to share their contact details for the event. The events are a place where discussions move quickly, driven by the intense trading atmosphere.

Keven said: “We provide everything that a busy rail infrastructure professional needs for a successful visit: exhibitor table top space at a very competitive price making it affordable for all, free tea coffee and hot breakfast rolls so everyone can fuel up for a busy day after an early morning start, a really good high quality footfall to ensure that there are decisionmakers in the room from the biggest buyers in the rail industry and finally, for the exhibitors, we provide a portal for them to apply for private meetings to be held with the heads of procurement for those major rail buyers on the day at our shows.

Our events are growing by +50 per cent each year driven by the supply chain seeking better value to market their business. RIN is great for buyers too who can meet an unmatched number and variety of supply chain companies all in one place, giving them every chance to fill gaps in their rail infrastructure SME support network”.
