HS2’s Station Construction Partner for Euston station, a joint venture between Mace and Dragados (MD JV), is ramping up procurement this month, as it starts to offer packages worth over £500 million to help deliver HS2’s brand-new station at Euston.
This represents the start of a multi-year programme of procurement to support development and delivery of the HS2 scheme.
HS2 Minister, Andrew Stephenson said: “HS2 has never just been about boosting transport – it’s also about driving business, creating long-lasting jobs and Building Back Better from the pandemic.”
Aberdeen-based STC INSISO has reported a turnover figure of £3.8 million in their first year since STC Global and INSISO merged in early 2021, an increase of £1 million compared to the separate companies combined previous years.
The amalgamated problem-solving company has welcomed 14 new clients over the past 12 months, including HS2 Euston, East West Rail, Peel Ports and Sky Futures.
Siemens Mobility’s Bogie Service Centre (BSC) in Lincoln has reached a historic milestone with the overhaul of its 1000th bogie.
The team managed this in just three years – and only 15 months after their 500th.
Sambit Banerjee, managing director, Siemens Mobility Limited, said: “Reaching this milestone so soon after the 500th overhaul shows how the capabilities of the Lincoln facility are growing at pace.”
More locations have launched appeals to become the home of the Great British Railways national headquarters.
Last week it was revealed that Swindon and Crewe had both announced their intentions to become the new HQ.
Now, News and Star says an appeal has been launched in Penrith, and Darlington and Stockton Times features comments from MP Mary Kelly Foy who has urged Durham County Council to throw its hat into the ring.
Bidding local authorities must lodge their expression of interest by March 16, with the Department for Transport shortlist to be announced in May.
