Union RMT confirmed this morning that a planned tube strike is going ahead tomorrow.

An article in City A.M. says its members on the Central and Victoria lines will halt work on Friday from 8.30pm until 8am on Saturday. They plan to do the same on Saturday evening, from 8.30pm to Sunday morning 8am.

In fact, as announced late last year, they plan to strike every weekend on the Night Tube from tomorrow through to June in “an on-going fight to prevent the ripping up of staffing arrangements that would wreck the work life balance of drivers,” according to a statement sent to City A.Mthis morning.


Sticking with the London Underground and Transport for London will be shutting the Northern Line between Kennington and Moorgate from 15 January until mid-May.

That’s according to an article on the BBC that says there will be no Northern Line service from Elephant and Castle, Bank, Borough and London Bridge stations, while upgrade works take place.


The EKFB JV has announced two changes to its senior leadership team.

Helen Samuels is promoted to the role of managing director where she joins and leads the 900-strong team currently working on the 80km of the C2 and C3 sections of HS2 Phase One.

Emmanuel Rossignol is promoted to project director, taking over from Peter Bimson, who will begin an extended handover period. Peter will be retiring later in the year after 25 years at Kier.

GB Railfreight (GBRf) has announced that rail TikTok trainspotting star Francis Bourgeois has been appointed as its new brand ambassador.

Throughout 2022, Francis will be sharing his passion and insights for the railway, by showcasing the vital role of rail freight and going behind the scenes at GBRf.

Francis said: “I have had a lifelong passion for the railway, and I can’t wait to apply this enthusiasm to my ambassadorship at the company.”
