LNER summer 2024 tickets now on sale

LNER is putting hundreds of thousands of tickets on sale for Summer 2024, in a move it says will help customers to plan their trips ahead and access the best value fares.

From Thursday 4 April, tickets for many LNER weekday and weekend services up to and including Friday 6 September 2024 will be available to purchase.

Data from LNER shows that more than six million journeys were made between June and August 2023, up 9 per cent on the same period the previous year. Stretching almost 1000 miles from the scenic Scottish Highlands, through North East England, Yorkshire, the East Midlands and London King’s Cross, LNER offers dozens of destinations to discover and explore.

Among the top summer journeys in 2023 were:

  • Edinburgh to London King’s Cross.
  • Leeds to London King’s Cross.
  • York to London King’s Cross.
  • Newcastle upon Tyne to London King’s Cross.
  • Peterborough to London King’s Cross.
  • Stevenage to London King’s Cross.
  • Grantham to London King’s Cross.

With staycation holidays still proving popular, customers are encouraged to book in advance and book direct for summer 2024. LNER’s Family Tickets provide travel for up to two adults and four children for one fixed price. Booking directly with LNER also means customers have no booking fee and are kept up to date with access to live journey alerts, while they can also earn credit for future journeys by signing up to LNER’s loyalty scheme LNER Perks. Deal Finder – exclusive to the LNER app – provides destination inspiration and great value deals.

David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “At LNER, we are continuing to attract more people to rail than ever before, and we are looking forward to the summer season. Rail, of course, is one of the most sustainable forms of public transport and we are proud to connect dozens of towns and cities across our route.

“We know it’s more important than ever for our customers to get the best value, and with tickets going on sale now, it means people can plan ahead and look forward to that special summer trip, memory-making days out or catching up with family and friends.”

Once onboard, customers can enjoy a range of locally sourced food and drink with complimentary at-seat service in First Class. Customers in Standard also have a wide range of refreshments delivered directly to their seat using LNER’s Let’s Eat At Your Seat service.
