Nuclear Transport Solutions invests in staff with leadership qualification

Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) has offered ambitious employees the chance to study for a management qualification, gaining the skills they need to lead teams successfully.

NTS is inviting staff to apply for the Aspiring Leader programme, which was set up by national training and development manager Phil Carney.

Employees can choose between a level three qualification (equivalent to an A Level or Level 3 NVQ, and designed for those who don’t currently have level two qualifications in functional skills) and a level five qualification (foundation degree or HND equivalent, and aimed at learners with level two functional skills qualifications.)

Learners who opt for the level three course will study for approximately 12 – 15 months, while those who take the level five qualification will commit to between 15 and 18 months.

Each qualification comprises eight workshops, during which staff will learn how to ‘lead self’, ‘lead others’ and ‘lead the business’.

These workshops will be supported by coursework, presentations and discussions, with students encouraged to build on their knowledge and skills.

Upon completion, they will be entitled to membership of professional body The Institute of Leadership and Management.

Commenting on the qualification, NTS recruitment lead Alex Webster said: “Our people make us unique, and this programme is just one of the ways we’re investing in them. We look forward to seeing the first cohort of students gain new skills and grow in confidence over the coming months.”
