ScotRail gets onboard with RBD Rail Recruiter

Many employers are currently experiencing a challenging candidate-led labour market. ScotRail is no exception; although many problems can be traced back to the impact of COVID-19, issues also exist in raising awareness about the large number of career opportunities available within rail.

In order to find the talented people that ScotRail needs, and to attract greater diversity, the train operator has just signed up with rail sector exclusive job board RBD Rail Recruiter.

Neil Archibald, head of strategic workforce planning at ScotRail said: ‘We’re looking forward to working with RBD Rail Recruiter as we look to attract more diversity to our applicant base, raise the profile of opportunities right across ScotRail and position the company as an employer of choice. ScotRail has a number of vacancies at the moment, from  front-line customer service roles to opportunities in engineering, project management, finance, commercial and safety and we feel the time is right to change the way we approach marketing these opportunities.  Working with RBD Rail Recruiter will significantly improve the positioning of our opportunities and enhance our online presence as an employer.

“We are focusing on attracting more diversity to ScotRail and maximising the awareness of career opportunities – it’s a candidate market right now and we need to work differently to secure the calibre of candidate we are striving for.  Working with RBD Rail Recruiter will help us achieve this and we are looking forward to developing the partnership moving forward at a time when ambitious plans are in place for Scotland’s Railway.”
