SSE Enterprise Rail’s approach to safety recognised by LUL

SSE Enterprise Rail has been awarded a prestigious Beacon Award by London
Underground (LUL) for work carried out on its network.

SSE Enterprise Rail achieved Beacon status for its work on LUL’s Ruislip
Depot Signal Equipment Room (SER) site.

LUL recognises suppliers who demonstrate good practice in site
management through the Beacon scheme, contributing to an excellent
safety record on London Underground projects and ensuring that all work at
project sites and maintenance depots is undertaken safely and considerately.

The awards recognise suppliers who demonstrate outstanding performance in health and safety and are presented to companies who meet strict criteria on health and safety standards; leadership and management; environmental issues and consideration for those affected by works.
Neil Wattley, Senior Construction Manager, Major Projects Directorate for Transport for London said: “Congratulations to SSE Enterprise Rail on gaining Beacon Status at Ruislip Depot SER. This has been achieved in a matter of six weeks which indicates that the Beacon safety standard on site has now become a natural early milestone deliverable within our programme on all sites. Thanks to SSE Enterprise
Rail for continuing the safety drive.”
LUL’s project team also provided SSE Enterprise Rail’s on-site staff with support. This is the first Beacon Award for Signal Equipment Rooms (SER) Contract 6 work that SSE Enterprise Rail is delivering, following four awards for the company’s work on SER Contract 4.
SSE Enterprise Rail managing director Raj Sinha said: “We proactively work to meet the criteria set out by LUL on all of the work we deliver across our business. We are delighted to receive this recognition and the SSE Enterprise Rail team working at the Ruislip Depot can be proud of the significant amount of hard work that they have done in order to achieve this standard.
